Teddies Group - Under 3's
Our Teddies group is specifically planned for our children who are not yet three. Sessions are from 12.25 p.m. till 3.30 p.m. for a minimum of two afternoons a week.
The children start the session with a packed lunch. There is a specific reason for this. Children love to be in control and have a routine. By starting with lunch they can come in, go to the toilet, wash hands and sit down with their own peers and a teacher. There is no worry for them as to what they can play with or who they go to. Parents are welcome to stay as long as they wish, they know their child best of all. After lunch a story, an activity, outside play and then join the main nursery for the remainder of the afternoon. This routine has proved very successful for settling children and is a gentle introduction leading to a smooth transition to the main Nursery.
On reaching three years old the children add a minimum of one more session and join the main nursery having already had experience of it through the Teddies group. However they often return to Teddies as a comfort zone!
Ratios for the Teddies Group is one to four.
